With its musical response and increased headroom the Boomster mk.2 aims to redefine the quality standards of the buffer and booster genres. Extensive testing and comparison sessions with most of the appropriate chips currently in production, resulted in us opting for the hi-fi-grade Burr Brown® OPA 2132 chips, which deliver effortless fidelity and lushness across the Boomster mk.2’s different functions.

Our mission with the mk.2 version of the Boomster was to elevate it into a well-rounded boost pedal encompassing all the necessary features and functions contemporary musicians have come to expect, as well as to offer a standalone buffer that not only sounds great but also feels right under the hands, making it an indispensable tone component of any rig.

The Boomster mk.2 comes loaded with:

Booster function:
Get up to 16db of clean unadulterated boost. Place the Boomster mk.2 after your drive section for a volume increase or hit the front end of your amp or different drive pedals to introduce an added gain-staging option! The 3 voicing options available are designed to help you precisely sculpt your tone and match different guitars, pedals and amps to one another.

We have carefully tuned these to a guitar-friendly range but have tested them to be useful with all sorts of instruments:
• the top position attenuates the top end (control by how much via set-and-forget internal trimmer)
• the middle position retains a flat, full-range response

• the bottom position introduces more mids (control by how much via set-and-forget internal trimmer)

*When the Level knob is all the way to the left (closed) the Booster’s output level is at unity gain.

BUFFER BYPASS FUNCTION:

The rigorous R&D process employed for the development of the
buffer inside the Boomster mk.2, accomplished the 2 main traits we feel make for a great buffer;
With the Burr Brown® OPA 2132 chip powering the buffer the Boomster mk.2 will:

• instantaneously bring back frequencies compromised over long signal chains, without the unwanted top-end harshness and compromised mids many buffers suffer from.
• successfully retain the original feel of the instrument, something very few buffers achieve.

VOLUME PEDAL FUNCTION:

Pair the Boomster mk.2 with any commonly available 10k passive Expression pedal and you have yourself a smooth travelling volume pedal starting from OFF at the heel position all the way to wherever it is that you have the L (level) knob set if the pedal is activated, or from OFF to unity gain when the pedal is disengaged and in buffered bypass mode!

The Octaurus ltd is the latest entry in JAM Custom Shop’s line of limited pedals.

Inspired by the octafuzz tones from the golden era of guitar music, the Octaurus ltd is not looking to emulate but rather build on this rich lineage while claiming its place as one of the finest examples of the genre out there. Identifying our favourite behavioural attributes scattered across many different legendary octafuzzes of the past, our mission was to find a way to bring them all together in a single standalone device.
It is a tour de force of vintage sound and feel.

The intricate turret-based point-to-point construction is designed around a batch of early 60s NOS silicon transistors either made by Transitron or General Instrument or both, similar to 2N335/336, complementing the Octaurus ltd’s unique tonal character.

In the style of previous Custom Shop limited edition pedals, the Octaurus ltd comes embossed in fine olive drab suede, and features a see-through bottom plate also wrapped in suede with the addition of a zip, to provide safe and easy visual access to the beautifully laid out board inside.

The Tubedreamer (Left Side) is our take on the legendary 808 Tubescreamer with a carefully tuned midrange frequency register delivering a warm and rich overdriven sound through any amp! A pivotal difference between the TD and other Tubescreamers, is that we chose to go with 3 diodes for asymmetrical clipping instead of symmetrical, enhancing the responsiveness of the pedal to fretting and picking nuances. The Tubedreamer employs the JRC4558D chip to deliver its classic sound, just like in the original, sought-after 808’s.

The Lucydreamer (Right Side) is a Dry / Wet overdrive which has less of a mid hump than our Tubedreamer, and allows for more low end to come through. It can track every little nuance of your playing with a wide gain-stage spectrum, ranging from highly dynamic tube- amp-like break-up, all the way to full-bodied high-gain saturation with the assistance of the high-gain-stage footswitch, while effortlessly maintaining chord-voicing clarity! The “secret” chip it bases its sound on, along with its different clipping implementation compared to the TD, allow the Lucydreamer to pair perfectly with the TD adding layers of harmonic content on tap!

Combine the two for new and exciting gain structures and assign the high-gain-stage footswitch to taste, making for up to six different gain-stages accessible in real time!

Our love for harmonic and amplitude tremolo deepens ever further with Harmonious Monk mk.2!

WHAT’S NEW:

TAP tempo
Ramp function: holding the TAP switch will ramp to a second speed. You can determine the second speed, as well as the rate of the ramp between the two tremolo speeds.

There is a second mode of operation called the Legacy mode which retains and expands on the mk.1’s functionality since now you can choose to have x2 (double) or x1.5 (dotted eighth) speed multiplying options!

CHOP (kill dry) function
In addition to the mk.1’s 3 internal EQ trimmers, the mk.2 features a new internal trimmer to adjust input gain control to optimise Harmonious Monk mk.2 for use with guitar, bass, keys, or anything else you might want to throw at it!
You can now specify the startup state of the mk.2, to ON or OFF upon receiving power!

OPERATION MODE SELECTION:
The mk.2 comes with the Tap & Ramp mode preselected.
In order to switch between the Tap & Ramp and Legacy modes, keep both footswitches pressed until the LEDs blink, indicating mode change.

RAMPING FEATURE:
Only available while in the Tap & Ramp mode.
A prolonged press of the TAP footswitch will engage ramping from the original to the fixed user-selectable speed.
In order to determine the fixed user-selectable speed, while keeping the TAP footswitch pressed, adjust the Speed potentiometer to taste – make sure to return the Speed to the original position after releasing the TAP footswitch.
In order to determine how long it takes to travel from the original speed to the fixed user-selectable speed, while keeping the TAP footswitch pressed, adjust the Depth potentiometer to taste – make sure to return the Depth to the original position after releasing the TAP footswitch.

SPEED MULTIPLYING FEATURE:
Only available while in the Legacy mode.
An instantaneous press of the TAP footswitch will engage and disengage the speed multiplying function.
There are 2 available factors: x2 and x1.5 (dotted feel). In order to change the multiplication factor, keep the TAP footswitch pressed until you see 2 TAP LED blinks for the x2 factor or 3 TAP LED blinks for the x1.5 factor.

CHOP FEATURE:
While in the Amplitude mode and with the Square LFO selected, you can activate the CHOP effect (kill-dry) which effectively alternates between sound and complete silence. While in the aforementioned settings, simply turn the Depth potentiometer all the way up (to the right) for the CHOP effect to kick in.

● M = Mix between dry and effected signal

Shortly after the release of the Pink Flow multi-pedal we also started receiving continuous requests to build custom stand-alone seagull units. In seeking to address this demand the JAM pedals way, we are introducing the Seagull as part of our standard line, with improved controls and extended functionality.

Choose between the distinct “seagull” sound heard in Pink Floyd’s “Echoes” or vocal, vintage cocked-Wah tones, courtesy of the celebrated Red Fasel inductor also found in our Wahcko.

MORE CONTROL

All of the onboard controls are shared amongst both modes (seagull or cocked wah)
• L: controls the output level
• F: fine-tunes the frequency
• S: 3-way toggle-switch that selects between 3 distinct sweep ranges
• C: 2-way toggle-switch that selects between seagull (right) and cocked wah (left) modes
• Footswitch: Keep pressed for longer times to momentarily engage (press to engage, release to disengage) or press and release instantaneously for traditional ON or OFF operation.

Please follow these steps to make sure you properly operate and control the Seagull:

• Make sure your guitar has passive pickups
• Make sure there are no buffered bypass pedals between your guitar and the Seagull
• Engage the effect, when you do:
• Adjust the output volume to your taste
• Turn your guitar’s volume knob all the way up.
• You change the pitch by manipulating your guitar’s tone pot.
• You can select different pickup settings on your guitar to alter the fundamental pitch
• Long delay repeats and/or lush reverb are recommended!

“David Gilmour explains in an interview with Guitar Player (January 09):

“We discovered it as the result of a serendipitous accident that happened in about 1969 or 1970, when a roadie had plugged the wah in the wrong way, and I stomped into it and got this incredible screaming noise.”

The brilliance of this effect isn’t really the effect in it self but the fact that David went ahead and explored how he could tame and integrate the effect in a song after obviously having heard something that must have sounded quite horrible. Actually, David employed the effect long before Pink Floyd wrote Echoes. It can be heard during early live versions of the unreleased song Embryo.

Echoes was premiered April 22 1970 in Norwich UK (introduced as Return of the Son of Nothing). The seagull sequence was now moved to Echoes from Embryo, which now featured echo swells produced with the Binson Echorec.”

The CTRL BOX is our official offering for remote preset selection and remote tap tempo / HOLD engagement for the Delay Llama XTREME! As always, handmade and hand-painted at our worksop in Athens, Greece!

To remotely engage presets via the CTRL BOX:

Connect a stereo-to-stereo patch cable from the PS output jack on the CTRL BOX to the PS input jack on your Delay Llama XTREME
Press the numbered footswitch corresponding to the preset you wish to engage

To remotely tap your preferred tempo in via the CTRL BOX

Connect a mono-to-mono patch cable from the TAP output jack on the CTRL BOX to the TAP input jack on the Delay Llama XTREME
A prolonged press will engage the HOLD function

*Notes:

In order to save presets while the CTRL BOX’s remote tap tempo is connected to your Delay Llama XTREME, you would need to simultaneously hold the middle foot switch on the Delay Llama XTREME and TAP TEMPO on the CTRL BOX. Alternatively, you can temporarily disconnect the jack from the TAP IN of the Delay Llama XTREME, perform the traditional save method, and reconnect once save is complete.
You cannot access the manual mode via the CTRL BOX, only the 4 presets

The most crucial ingredient when it comes to a Germanium Fuzz pedal’s quality, sound and “clean- ability”, is transistor choice. In our experience there’s nothing quite like the CV7003, military-spec OC44 germanium transistors.

The few-and-far-between CV7003, are extremely consistent and heat-resistant, much more so than the AC128 and NKT275 transistors, placing the Fuzz Phrase in a league of its own. The CV7003’s consistency is so dependable that an external bias pot is rendered unnecessary. You are likely to never have to adjust the bias on your pedal!

Each individual transistor is measured for gain and leakage and then hand picked and matched through sound audition.

Along with the use of carbon comp resistors and tropical fish capacitors, the result is pure vintage fuzz goodness! Just mess around with the guitar volume to find the sweet spots, from clean, to rude, to devastating!

The Delay Llama is a tone machine that will become an indispensable part of your sound adding warmth and depth through organic repeats which seamlessly integrate into your playing, courtesy of its BBD chips , faithful reproductions of the Panasonic MN3205.

Its straight-forward layout is addressed to delay users who are looking to elegantly enhance their hard-earned tone, similarly to how a tape-echo machine would with no frills.

The mk.3 version expands on the utility value of this modern classic, while retaining the form factor and ease of use, by introducing Tap Tempo with subdivisions and Hold (self oscillation) functions. You can also set the bypass mode to trails (buffered) or true bypass!

The Delay Llama mk.3 comes with 600ms max. delay time , and can also be used with bass guitars.

Controls:

L: Level of the repeats on top of your dry signal

T: Sets the delay time

R: Sets the amount of repeats

Inspired by the ’71 “triangle” and the later “Red Army / Civil War” Muffs, the Red Muck boasts a wider gamut of saturation and varied degrees of compression and sustain on tap.

The Boost footswitch engages a dedicated section of the circuit, separately tuned to hit the front end of the Red Muck and generate even fatter walls of Fuzz-Distortion or with the Gain set lower, function as a High-Gain-Stage footswitch.

Comprised of photocells, a bulb, original NOS 2SC828 transistors and carbon comp resistors, the RetroVibe delivers the majestic sounds of the best Uni-Vibe pedals from back in the day, but housed in a modern pedalboard-friendly enclosure and featuring standard 9V DC operation internally lifted to 15V DC.

Choose between the Vibrato and Chorus settings and navigate from slow-rate wavy sounds all the way to fast Leslie-speaker effects!

Use it with any common passive 10k Expression pedal in conjunction with a standard TRS cable for real-time Speed control.

An added twist!

We have incorporated an internal trimmer that affects the maximum intensity of the effect, but also dramatically manipulates the sound of the RetroVibe all the while maintaining the pedal’s true vintage character.
