This is a wonderful addition to any musicians arsenal of pedal minimal effects user who runs this as their only distortion a lot of ground with this little green monster.
A few things about the TFR:
You will notice that you’ll have to turn the volume upthigherdelatively speaking) than with most other generations of muffs and their clones.
This is intentional and inherent to the design of the particular unit the Tall Font was modeled after.
You’ll also notice quite a bit less gain on tap than others. This is also intentional. One thing about the TFR and original greenies is that they can have less of a “wow” factor in the bedroom. You don’t get that dripping saturation you may be expecting. This is also a very important aspect to the design, and contributes to the uniqueness of this pedal.
Warm but cutting presence in the mix and will likely find more than enough gain on tap to make this one of your favorite fuzzy distortions (bordering on overdrive) that sits in the mix beautifully without having the disappearing fuzz syndrome that can sometimes come with heavy fuzz pedals.
A more sensitive fuzz range that accommodates high output pickups and bass guitar particularly well. (Although I love this pedal with vintage-type low output pups, and a Strat or Tele).
The response to volume adjustments on the instrument is second to none. A tip: turn the fuzz to max and do all adjustments at the volume knob on your guitar. You can cover a lot of ground that way.
Take some time to settle in with your new little Russian buddy and you’l discover what makes them such a treasure to many.
This pedal is used and is in Excellent condition, and includes its original box. Tested to be fully functional.
