Patrick James Eggle Guitars is founded in the United Kingdom in 1994, and Patrick has produced some extremely high quality instruments that are inspired by different eras of guitar designs ever since with his team of luthiers. Their guitars are sought after by famous artists in the world such as Toni Iommi, Albert Lee and Rory Gallagher, and they have received prestigious awards such as the rare 10/10 rating and 2022 Guitar of the Year Prestige Electrics Category from Guitarist magazine for their Macon, and 10/10 rating for the 96 model in 2017.
Here at Bella Romeo Music we present the 96 Drop Top in Tobacco Fade, which is Patrick James Eggle’s take on the classic “S” style instrument. It comes with a 4A Flamed Maple Top and 2-piece Swamp Ash body construction, which the flamed maple top gives a stunning aesthetics to the guitar while giving some brightness to the tone and the swamp ash offers a balanced tonal character. It features a 22-fret rosewood fingerboard and roasted maple neck, which the rosewood gives the guitar a luxurious look and warm sounds and the roasted maple neck balances the warmth with some snap and brightness. The roasted maple neck also gives more stability to the guitar and improves the tone of the wood. For electronics, it is equipped with a direct mount humbucker in the bridge and a P-90 pickup in the neck, and they both are hand-wounded by Mojo pickups which is also from the United Kingdom.
