Description
Pino Palladino is our shop’s biggest bass hero, who was voted the #1 session bassist by readers of Bass Player magazine (Feb 2022 issue). Legendary works with John Mayer, D’Angelo and The Vanguard were of course a small part of his career highlights, but you have probably been moved by his groove in countless other tracks without knowing he was the session bass. Pino’s 62′ P-bass with Thomasik-Infield flats contribute to his tone. Fender Custom Shop replicated Pino’s bass to every detail, and this bass just oozes cool. It’s finished with fiesta red nitro over desert sand. Its relic reflects how Pino’s bass was worn over time. The back of neck is also relic so it’s super smooth to play. The bass features selected alder, with quartersawn maple neck, round-laminated rosewood fingerboard, 20 vintage size frets. The factory strings match with Pino’s choice of Thomasik-Infield flats 43-100. The bass balances very comfortably, and is reasonably light weight. The vintage custom split coil pickup produces a richly authoritative tone, which cuts through the mix without being loud. This bass is used and is in mint condition. There is no wear made from usage, other than the strings were played. 100% original from factory. Frets are virtually new and the truss rod operates normally. The bass comes with its original Fender CS tweed deluxe case, with case candies, COA, etc. All specifications are listed in the Additional Information tab above.
