Ibanez is well known for making quality guitars in various styles, from S-style guitars all the way to shred machines and signature guitars for different artists. The AS200 Antique Violin that we have here at Bella Romeo fits in the jazz box category of the Ibanez catalogue, and John Scofield the jazz guitar legend says the AS200 is the best guitar he ever played! It features a maple body construction that offers a bright tonal profile while being aesthetically pleasing. The AS 200 has a 22-fret ‘Artstar AS’ shape ebony fretboard with a 3 piece maple neck that allows for smooth chord and single note playing. For electronics, it features two Super 58’s humbuckers that have a warm tone and can handle jazz and rock with ease.
This guitar is used and it is in good condition. There are no major dings on the top, but some of the glue came into contact with the body finish between the pickguard and bridge pickup area, causing dullness in the finish; there is a visible ding in that area as well. There are also no significant nicks on the side or back, and only a few fine scratches. The neck and fretboard are in decent condition, with only a few small dings on the neck and there are 80% of the frets remaining. The electronics and hardware are working properly with no issues, and the gold finish on the bridge has worn off and there is a fair amount of corrosion. The truss rod is working with margins in both directions. This guitar comes with inspection papers and an original deluxe hardshell case.
