Gibson has produced a lot of classic guitars over the years, and the Les Paul model is definitely on the top of the list. The story for this Les Paul Classic Premium Plus 1996 is that Gibson intended to make three classes of the Classic model, with the base model having plain tops, the Classic Plus with AA grade flamed tops and the Classic Premium Plus with AAA grade flamed maple top, with it being the most figured, with flames from edge to edge, hence the Premium Plus name. This guitar features a 22-fret rosewood fingerboard with a slimmer neck profile for comfortable playing, and the limited edition 490R and 498T alnico humbucker pickups that are great for heavier tones.
This guitar is used and it is in excellent condition. The body top has only few small nicks, some fine scratches, and areas of dullness on the finish due to age. The back of the body has also a few small nicks, and there is a some checking on the binding of the body. The fretboard and neck are in great condition as there are no significant dings and scratches. The frets are have a lot of life and there are about 80-90% of frets remaining. The electronics and hardwares are working properly, and there are some cracks on the pickup, which doesn’t affect the functionality.
