Description
Indeed Marcus Miller is most known for his slap and pop as highlighted on YouTube and the likes. Fender honors a modern jazz master with the Marcus Miller Jazz Bass, and it is a great bass for slapping style, especially when paired with the right set of strings. However as Marcus would describe it himself, the flashy slapping highlights hardly represent all that he does, live or in session. For a bass that accompanied Marcus for almost his entire career, it needs to be versatile for many different playing styles, and with features that would enhance the ‘highlight reels’.
This instrument replicates Marcus’ bass, and is built with an ash body and paired with a maple neck and fingerboard for extra snap. The pickups are two vintage-style Jazz Bass single-coil pickups and the traditional Jazz Bass tone controls are replaced by a 2-band active preamp so you can dial in that perfect tone. The Marcus Miller Jazz Bass sports unique cosmetic touches, such as a chrome pickup cover over the neck pickup and a black pickguard/control plate that houses a mini active/passive toggle switch. We particular like the styling of block inlays with fingerboard binding.

This bass is used and is in Exc condition. There are signs of usage on the body, including minor nicks and fine scratches. There are few more visible scratches at the back of the body. The neck has no significant wear except for a chip in the finish near the body joint. The top and side of the headstock has seen quite a few minor nicks. Overall, this is a beautiful looking bass, with an awesome tone.
