Description
Whilst PRS is well known for making beautiful guitars, they are also producing basses with the same philosophy, which is making the best instrument possible with top quality materials and craftsmanship. The PRS Grainger Bass 5 that we have here at Bella Romeo is a Core PRS bass model which is inspired by the private stock Gary Grainger bass line, with the Core model having all the quality and features of the Private Stock model while being more approachable. It features a carved figured maple top and mahogany back wood body construction, which the maple gives the bass stunning aesthetics and the mahogany provides a warm and smooth tone. It has a 24-fret maple neck and fretboard with a GG5 neck shape, which gives a bright tonal profile, snappy attack and smooth neck feel. For electronics, it is equipped with two custom GG pickups and the PRS/Grainger active electronics. The pickups provide a meaty punch while also having lots of detail, and the pre-amp system brings extra headroom and versatility to the bass.
This bass is used and it is in mint condition. The top of the body has no nicks, and they are only a few pick scratches which are not visible unless examined closely. There are a few very small nicks in the sides of the body and near the input jack. There are some minor scratches at the back of the body. The neck and fretboard are in great condition with no nicks and scratches, and the frets are virtually new. There are no imperfections on the headstock. One potential buyer inquired about the neck joint, as the picture shows wood grain / pattern that may be mistaken as cracks. We confirm that these are wood grain that extends naturally to the back of the neck, and there is no crack on this bass anywhere. The electronics are working normally, the chrome finish remains largely intact with some corrosion on the pickups, and the truss rod functions in both directions. This bass comes with inspection papers, an original deluxe hardshell case and original toolkit. For all technical specifications, all specifications are listed in the Additional Information tab above.
