Description
Rickenbacker is a USA based instrument manufacturer, and their instruments are beloved by famous acts around the world, such as the Beatles, Deep Purple and Pink Floyd. Here at Bella Romeo music, we present a vintage 1973 Rickenbacker 4001 in Burgundyglo. This bass guitar has a maple body wood construction, which offers bright tonal character and crisp attack. It features a 20-fret rosewood fingerboard and 3-piece walnut/ maple neck-through neck. The headstock has the walnut wing feature which is synonymous with Rickenbacker instruments. The rosewood gives the instrument warmth and classy aesthetics, and the 3 piece walnut/ maple neck gives a combination of tight low ends and brightness, and the neck-through feature gives the bass more sustain as well. For electronics, it is equipped with the Rickenbacker toaster single coil in the neck position and Rickenbacker single coil in the bridge position, which gives the classic Rickenbacker sound that so many musicians adored.
This bass is used and it is in good condition. Since this bass is a vintage instrument, there are visible wears all around the body, but there are nothing that looks out of place and it retains an elegant look. There are some cracks on the original pickguard. There are also signs of usage on the fingerboard with several spots of finish wears on the fingerboard and on the edge of the inlays, however the bass still plays beautifully. There are wears on the headstock. There are about 50-60% of the frets remaining. The electronics are working normally, the chrome finish remains with some oxidation. The screws are rusty but they are all original. There are significant wear on the bridge mutes, and the A and D strings are functioning as intended, but the mute on the E and G string has worn too low. This bass comes with an original deluxe hardshell case, which is severely worn due to its age, and one of the buckles is non-functional.
