Description
F-Bass is a specialist bass guitar manufacturer based in Canada, and they are focused in making high-quality basses that look and sound fantastic, while being reliable for all types of bassists. One of the models that the produce is the BN5, which the model is influenced by the jazz bass model, but it also carries the 40+ years of F Bass evolution with their own characteristics. The BN5 features a Northern White Ash body wood construction, which gives the bass a stunning natural finish and well-balanced tones. It has a 22-fret Hardrock maple fingerboard and a 3-piece quartersawn maple neck, which the maple gives it a satisfying snap. For electronics, it is equipped with 2 F Bass stacked single coil pickups and a F Bass 9V preamp, and they are capable with producing different tones, hence making this bass very versatile.
It is worthwhile to mention that F Bass basses have a tone knob that works in both active and passive mode. We are not sure why this wiring is not adopted with more basses (Alleva Coppolo, Sadowsky, Le Fay, F Bass basses have this same feature, to our knowledge, and perhaps there are more out there), as it adds versatility to the tone by many miles. Many other basses have passive mode without a tone control; and for those that does have a tone control knob, it doesn’t work in active mode. We understand that treble-cut can be regarded as tone roll off, but really, it’s not the same.
This bass is used and it is in Mint- condition. There are a few minor signs or usage such as cleaning mark, light scratches / nicks. There are no obvious wear around the neck and fingerboard, and the frets are 90%. The electronics are working normally; all knobs have signs of usage but all functional. The bridge’s chrome finish remains intact and the truss rod is functioning in both directions.
There is a small finish blemish on the side of the bridge pickup cover. There is a visible chip near the electronic compartment cover at the back of the body.
This bass comes with an original gig bag, and the zipper handle for the gig bag is broken but it is still fully functional. For all technical specifications, please visit additional information tab above.
